What FocusStat collects on this website

The website you came from uses FocusStat to understand how it is used and to find broken pages. This page explains, in plain language, what that measurement involves. It is written for you, the visitor, not for lawyers. The website operator is responsible for the site itself; FocusStat processes this data on their behalf and never uses it for anything else.

The short version

• No cookies. No advertising trackers. No data sold to anyone.
• You are counted, not identified. A random id is kept in your browser's local storage (not a cookie), it is specific to this one website, and it cannot be matched to you on any other site.
• Your IP address is used for a moment to work out your country, region and city, then discarded. It is never stored.
• No browser fingerprinting.
• Anything you type is masked before session replay ever leaves your browser.
• You can opt out in one click, and opting out also erases what was already collected from your browser.

What is measured

• Pages you view, when, and in what order, plus how far you scroll and how long the page is active.
• The page that referred you here (for example a search engine or a link on another site) and any campaign tags in the link.
• Your browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language, as your browser reports them.
• Coarse location: country, region and city, derived from your IP address and then the address is discarded.
• Clicks on buttons and links, including repeated rapid clicks and clicks that do nothing, which help find broken elements.
• Page speed measurements (Core Web Vitals) and JavaScript errors that happen while you browse.
• If the operator has enabled it: a sampled session replay, a recording of page structure and pointer movement with all form input masked. Passwords and card fields are always masked.

What is not collected

• Your name, email, phone number or anything else that identifies you, unless the website operator deliberately sends a pseudonymous id for their own logged-in users. Even then FocusStat never receives an email address.
• Anything you type into forms. Inputs are masked in the browser before recording.
• Your full IP address. It is never written to disk.
• Your activity on other websites. The visitor id is per website and is never shared.
• Canvas, font, audio or any other fingerprinting signals.

How long it is kept

Aggregated analytics are kept for as long as the website operator chooses (they can set an automatic deletion window). Session replays are deleted after 30 days by default. The operator can delete a single visitor's data, a single replay, or everything, at any time.

How to opt out

Add ?sp_ignore=true to any page address on the website and load it once. That browser is excluded from measurement from then on, and the data already collected from it is erased. Loading a page with ?sp_ignore=false reverses it. Browser settings that block third-party scripts or analytics domains also work; the site functions normally without FocusStat.

Where the data goes

Data is processed and stored by FocusStat with its infrastructure providers (Supabase for the database and storage, Vercel for hosting), on behalf of the website operator. FocusStat staff do not look at individual sites' data except to fix a problem the operator asked us to fix.
